With its distinctive warp faced structure, this wool Tibetan coat was mostly likely woven in the Wangden valley of south-central Tibet. Using contrasting black and white wool, a series of graphic reciprocal geometric designs are created on the back. Black flatweave is used on the sides and front portions where it has been ornamented through simple embroidery.
