With a highly graphic and open geometric design, this Turkish yatak is perhaps surprisingly imbued with a distinctly modernist aesthetic. It is woven with exceptionally soft Anatolian wool. 'Yatak' literally means 'sleeper' and pieces such as these with their soft wool, and large knots of high pile were made as sleeping rugs. This dynamic examples was woven in the area of Karaman in south central Turkey.
