Bakhshaish rug

This dynamic Bakhshaish rug blends elements from formal Persian carpets with the freedom of design of tribal and village rugs. The red ground paints an arrangement of several varieties of large flowering palmettes organized around an abstracted lattice in a directional formation. The scale is grand and dramatic, with smaller blossoms punctuated throughout the field. Of exceptional merit is the main border composed of multi-colored palmettes against an open camel ground.
