A tree of life against a camel field is one of the classic themes of Baluch weaving. This exemplary piece combines spacious drawing with vivid color, exceptional execution of weave, and condition. In keeping with other top Baluch camel ground and blue ground pieces, white is used sparingly but effectively for highlight and contrast. The thick pile and construction of this piece suggest a strong relationship with a group of depressed warp, mainly mina-khani designed pieces from the Torbat area of southern Khorossan in northeast Persia.
Condition Report
