This classic Baluch scatter rug draws alternating floral bursts within a lattice against a natural un-dyed camel wool ground. The two blossom types drawn here may ultimately derive from ‘mina-khaki’ Baluch prototypes also woven in the Khorosan region of Northeastern Persia. An oscillating ‘Turkmen line border’ is used to frame the piece adding a geometric sensibility to the more floral themed field. Of notable merit, unlike the vast majority of Baluch rugs of this age, the flatwoven ends are excellently preserved on this rug.
