Konya Runner

Using a classic Anatolian design format, a column of five alternating sea-green and red quatrefoil medallions, interspersed with corner-pieces, are drawn against a madder red ground forming several distinct repeating patterns. Rams-horn ornament outlines each, harmonizing the drawing of the field. A geometricized floral border running against an ochre ground frames the composition while a row of colorful pendants at both top and bottom, reminiscent of those of classical Ottoman textiles, provide for further balance and flare.
