The colorful floral blossoms painted throughout the field of this Kurdish runner are derived from earlier Sauj Bulagh Kurdish pieces of the late 18th century. Here, however, each blossom is part of a larger floral structure incorporating stems and leaves. Each of these colorful flowers is drawn within an all encompassing red and white serrated lattice. The diverse colors used throughout this piece illuminate against the deep chocolate field.
