Oushak

Woven with wool pile as soft as its delicate palette, this classic pale turn of the century Oushak spaciously draws a central medallion against an ivory field. In the spirit of the time the drawing is informed by European neoclassical taste. Garlands of ornament surround the star-shaped medallion as tracery sketched in a similar mode stretches from top to bottom along either side of the field. Corner-pieces colored in light pistachio give a wonderful contour to the field.
