This luxurious tent bag was woven in western Central Asia by the nomadic Saryk tribe of Turkmen. Its fine attention to detail and use of luxurious materials such as silk and cotton speaks of the value that these nomads placed on their domestic weavings. The silk centers of the roundels are dyed with insect derived cochineal. The cotton whites add heightened contrast.
