Serab rug

This short Serab runner from western Persia is drawn with a central medallion format often seen repeated in longer examples of this type. The camel ground is lighter than most of the group, though the linear fishbone design, color, and form of the elongated medallion and border types are classic for the type. In this way, this piece may be seen as a succinct rendition of a repeat design runner.
