An excellent example of a Sumak main carpet from this period. Great saturation of naturally dyed colors. The extra row of motifs on either side of the field is quite unusual. Several rugs from this collection were in the exhibition “Tribal Visions” at the Marin, CA Cultural Center in 1980 and I have no doubt this would have been in the exhibition as well had Mr. Edwards already acquired it.
