With perfect Persian style, this Tabriz carpet utilizes a classic medallion format. Alternating blue and red sections of the field and medallion are echoed in the border system while the entire composition is further integrated by blossoming spandrels of arabesque in jewel-like tones. Particularly pleasing are the modulated hues of sky-blue concentrated in the center of the medallion and with accents throughout.
