This Fereghan Sarouk carpet from central Persia blends formal design with a playful rendering using rich color and fine detailing. An indigo central medallion composed of multiple floral motifs is surrounded by an array of blossoming vine-scroll against an almost translucent madder field. Glowing ivory wool radiates from the corners and extremities of the field and several motifs found within the border.
