Few types of carpets can match both the softness of wool and fine intricate drawing of a truly nineteenth century Fereghan Sarouk. This carpet was woven in central Persia and makes use of a classic Persianate medallion design complete with corner-pieces. Delicate flowering plants and scrolls of arabesque are drawn throughout the composition. Dark and light are well proportioned and balanced as are the central rose medallion and the main border of the same color. This is at once a classic and timeless Persian carpet.
