Woven most likely in the Karabagh region , this happy long rug playfully draws rectangular boxes drawn with an array of traditional motifs from Caucasian folk weaving. Large central latch-hook octagons are surrounded by animals, palmettes, and small quartered diamonds. Color is balanced between reds and blues and light and dark. Of potential interest and adding an extra degree of fineness is the white cotton weft used throughout.
Condition Report
Full original pile. Outer guard border rewoven both ends. Areas of old re-piling of probably moth damage.
