Khamseh rug

The Khamseh tribal confederacy of southwest Persia is known for its fine pile weavings featuring bird imagery. This classic Khamseh bird rug draws a full field animated with abundance mixing several bird types with paired paisley ‘boteh’ as well as a variety of purely geometric elements. A classic column of linked white diamonds is traced down the center of the field.
