Kurd bag

Kurdish weaving, particularly from Northwest Persia, is renowned for its rich natural color. This colorful Kurdish bag comprises one half of a double saddle bag set, or ‘khorjin.’ The central field draws delicate plants with red flowers within a golden lattice. The main border draws larger flowering plants with highlights of green, sky blue, and aubergine against a gold grown. This design is more typically seen as a repeat field design in larger Kurdish carpets and runners.
