Woven perhaps in a Kurdish enclave of Northwest Persia this colorful runner faithfully renders one of the oldest variations of the mina khani pattern. Gold, rose and blue blossoms alternate interspersed with rows of small white flowers against a deep indigo ground. A wispily rendered organic lattice of vegetation encompasses a column of asymmetrically drawn open blossoms. A stunning balance of naturalism and fantasy is achieved. Of particular merit is the inclusion of a solitary green blossom towards the center.
