Shahsevan kilim khorjin

Crisply drawn and with a rainbow of colors, this Shahsevan saddle bag set, or ‘khorjin,’ features rows of repeat geometric ornament using slit tapestry weave. Bold latch hook diamonds are drawn at the top and bottom of each bag face, while a row of joined ‘s’-shaped ‘sirga’ form a middle row. Supplementary embroidery adds decorative flourishes throughout each bag face. The colorful crenelated bridge between the two bags is of particular quality.
